Module 3: Elementor Basics

How To Save Widgets And Copy/Paste Styles

Action Plan

Step 1: Save Global Widgets Using Our Template

The Elementor Pro add-on is required for this step

Why This Step Is Important

Global widgets allow you to save your preferred color styles and settings for each widget. This means that you won’t have to restyle a widget each time you add it to a page. We created a special template, LP-SETTINGS-widgets, with our recommended styles and settings for each widget to make this process much easier.

Watch Our Video Tutorial For This Step

This video will walk you through how to use our LP-SETTINGS-widgets template to save widgets as global widgets. Then we will show you how to add global widgets to a page using the “unlink” feature.

Video Summary

  • An example of how a pre-styled global widget can save you a lot of time (0:25)
  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to Elementor > My Templates and search for “settings” (1:34)
  • Our “SETTINGS-widgets” templates include pre-styled widgets that will match your LaunchParty color scheme (1:50)
  • First rename the templates so that you don’t accidentally overwrite them in the future (2:02)
  • Click “Edit with Elementor” for the “SETTINGS-widgets-white-bg” template (2:51)
  • Save a widget as a global widget by right clicking the pencil icon and clicking “Save as a Global” (3:20)
  • Name the global widget and click “Save” (3:38)
  • Drag a global widget onto a page (4:12)
  • Make sure to “Unlink from global” by clicking “Unlink” and then “Unlink” again in the popup box (4:23)
  • Why you need to “unlink” the widget (5:00)
