Google Analytics Content Experiments (formerly known as Google Website Optimizer) is free to use. You can have 12 active tests at one time.
You can compare up to 6 different page URLs (for each test) and view the conversion rates for each variation. Each page URL will need to be created on your own before setting up your test.
Conversion rates are measured using the Goals feature found in your Google Analytics account.
